National Smile Month, 16 May – 16 June 2022

One of the world's largest and long-running oral health campaigns, National Smile Month aims to raise awareness and make a positive difference to the oral health of millions of people.

It is supported by thousands of organisations, including dental and health organisations, schools, hospitals, health centres, pharmacies, hospices, charities and community centres, colleges and workplaces, as well as anyone with an interest in good oral healthcare. They join in to help us educate, motivate and communicate positive oral health messages and improve the quality of smiles all around the UK.

In recent years, it has been introduced into the occupational health programme for housing associations, legal firms, the emergency services, utility companies, the armed forces and prisons.

National Smile Month reaches millions of people every year, engaging them in the importance of developing and maintaining good oral health.

Mouth Cancer Action Month – November 2022

This campaign aims to raise awareness of mouth cancer and make a difference by saving thousands of lives through early detection and prevention. It has become an influential springboard in educating the public about mouth cancer by highlighting the risks, symptoms and causes of the disease. It also encourages everybody to discuss mouth cancer with their dentists or other dental professional.

Mouth Cancer Action Month attracts thousands of dental practices, hospitals, GPs and pharmacies to take part in helping deliver messages of a healthy lifestyle, early detection and prevention to millions in the form of talks, sponsored events, roadshows, displays, open sessions where oral health checks, free mouth cancer examinations take place, as well as engaging people in the importance of being aware of mouth cancer.
